The music of the First Chamber Concerto dates back to the 17th century and was curated by principal bassoonist Jisu Jeon, longtime principal trumpeter Christian Packmohr, and pianist Ulrike Mai. Johann Christoph Pezel, who worked as a town piper in Central Germany but also performed in Moravia and Italy, represents the heyday of the Baroque with his contrapuntal style. The Norwegian Thorvald Hansen, the Swede Oskar Frederik Lindberg, and the Frenchman Adolphe Blanc, on the other hand, usher in the era of Romantic music, while Blanc’s compatriot Eugène Bozza and the Welsh trumpeter Ifor James composed numerous works for wind instruments in the 20th century.
