For many years now, our path has led us to the Dorfhus Görmin—and time and again, we’ve been delighted by the special atmosphere of this place. Here, people gather, strike up conversations, enjoy homemade cake and coffee, and perhaps even discover something new about our neighboring country, Poland.
Once again, we’d like to start the concert afternoon on a relaxed note: Before the concert, there will be a brief overview of current developments in Poland. It’s a great opportunity to strike up conversations, ask questions, and look beyond our own horizons with curiosity.
Starting at 4 p.m.: Ola Jas live
After that, the stage belongs to Ola Jas. Born in Warsaw in 1992, this singer, violinist, and songwriter blends jazz, folk, and world music in a unique way. Her musical journey takes her to Brazil, Portugal, and the Portuguese-speaking regions of Africa—and she blends these influences with Polish folk music and her characteristic Slavic melancholy.
Ola Jas received her musical training at institutions including the Karol Szymanowski Music School in Warsaw and the Henryk Majewski Jazz School. She is not only a singer but also a trained violinist and a versatile composer. Her original compositions are melancholic, romantic, and contemplative, yet at the same time full of warmth and creative musical ideas.
Look forward to a special afternoon and evening where several generations can come together: over coffee and cake, in conversation about Poland, and finally at a concert that effortlessly blurs the boundaries between folk, jazz, and world music.
Come on by, bring your family, friends, and neighbors—and let’s spend a musical afternoon together at the Dorfhus Görmin.
