The VIA MOLINA Baltic Sea Route Vorpommern leads through a scenic region and offers the opportunity to discover the mill diversity of Vorpommern. You can easily integrate this mill route into your exploration of the Baltic Sea coast with its beaches and the Islands of Rügen and Usedom. Start at the Erdholländer windmill Steinhagen from 1751 near Stralsund and follow the "Road of Brick Gothic" to the fully functional Bock windmill Eldena from 1533 in Greifswald. The route continues to the Hanshagen watermill, which is now a technical museum. On Usedom, the Pudagla windmill (1693) and the Benz Dutch windmill (1823), the latter known as the "Benz Cultural Mill" with an adjoining bakery and a connection to artists such as Lyonel Feininger, await.

The technical development of the mills can also be seen, for example in the Lübs motor mill on the Szczecin Lagoon, which shows the transition from wind power to motor drive. Other highlights include the "Lassaner Mühle" museum and the Swedish mill in Anklam, which also offers social insights, as it was used as a courtroom in Swedish times.

The European mill route VIA MOLINA aims to connect mills throughout Europe, establish itself as a European cultural route and, in the future, be certified as an official "Cultural Route of the Council of Europe". Discover the impressive mills along the Baltic coast in a new way!
