Waren (Müritz) has been a recognized brine spa since 2012.
Waren thermal brine is used in many ways in the spa center on the Nesselberg. It is extracted in the geothermal plant on the Papenberg from an underground "sea" at a depth of 1550 meters.Balneological reports by the Fresenius Institute have confirmed that Waren thermal brine meets the criteria for a natural medicinal water and may therefore bear the designation "iodine-containing thermal brine". There are particularly promising therapeutic options for skin diseases, respiratory diseases and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The iodine-containing thermal brine is the basis for the "Waren bath salt". This makes it possible to use it at home. The salt is available in different packages on site at the Waren (Müritz) Information or by mail order at the Stadtwerke Waren.
