Idyllic location, sandy beach, and clear water; family-friendly. Located on the edge of the forest in Dreenkrögen, this campground sits on a quiet quarry lake. The nearly seven-hectare, groundwater-fed lake boasts crystal-clear water, a natural swimming beach on the east side, and a supervised swimming area during the summer months. Anglers will also find plenty to enjoy: eels, perch, pike, carp, and other fish species inhabit the waters.

The campground at Kiessee Dreenkrögen is located between Germany’s largest contiguous meadow landscape—the Lewitz—and the Griesen region, home to the Baroque town of Ludwigslust. The region offers ideal conditions for cycling, hiking, excursions to castles, and birdwatching (cranes, great white egrets, ospreys, and white-tailed eagles). Particularly charming: the deer rut in September and the impressive bird migration in the fall.

- Admission to the swimming beach is included.

Overnight guests with dogs are welcome at this campground. Dogs must be kept on a leash on the premises; a separate dog swimming area is located approximately 200 m away.

Bulow Palace

The family-run business of Iris and Norbert Leithold revives the centuries-old papier-mâché tradition of Ludwigslust. In 2013, they founded the Ludwigsluster Papiermaché-Manufaktur ("Ludwigslust Papier-Mâché Manufactory") in Bulow Palace, a magnificent royal seat. In workshops, guests can try out the old art of making papier-mâché themselves.
