The Baroque Mirow Castle is picturesquely situated on a castle island in the Mecklenburg Lake District. Known as the birthplace of Queen Sophie Charlotte of Great Britain, it now captivates visitors as a museum featuring magnificent Baroque and Rococo furnishings.
Mirow Castle is situated on a picturesque island in the Mecklenburg Lake District. Like a forgotten treasure chest, it holds memories of eccentric dukes, powerful widows, and princesses who became queens. The youngest of them, Princess Charlotte, spent her last night in little Mirow on August 17, 1761. The next day, she left her homeland forever and set out to become Queen of Great Britain.
