In this historic manor house there are two vacation apartments as well as a salon and a hall for celebrations. Treat yourself to a break in the vast nature of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern at the Groß Upahl manor house.

Located between Mecklenburg Lake District and the Lake District, Gutshaus Groß Upahl combines two of the most charming landscapes in northern Germany. Nestled in a vast natural setting of lakes, rolling hills and forests, it offers ideal conditions for long hikes, bike tours and active days outdoors. The landscape, shaped by the Ice Age, is pristine and varied - at the same time, guests benefit from the central location between Schwerin, Güstrow, Rostock and Waren (Müritz), while the Baltic Sea with Kühlungsborn can also be reached in less than an hour.

The "Kranich" vacation apartment on the upper floor offers a compact 27 m² of living space with a combined living and sleeping area, a modern kitchenette with dishwasher and a contemporary bathroom with shower.

The 65 m² "Seeadler" vacation apartment on the first floor is much more spacious: flooded with light, with its own entrance, garden view and fully equipped country-style kitchen for up to four people.

Bed linen and towels are included, dogs are welcome, a bathing bag can be added as an option.

The hall, foyer and lounge are available for events - suitable for celebrations, workshops or smaller conferences. In addition, catering and conference equipment can be arranged individually. Prices and details are available on request.

Dobbertin Abbey and church

The abbey of Dobbertin, on the eastern shore of the lake of the same name, is one of the most beautiful surviving monasteries in northern Germany. It was founded by Benedictine monks in 1220. Today, the abbey is managed by the Diakoniewerk, which looks after and supports people with mental and emotional disabilities. The workshop sells, among other things, candles and wooden articles.

Güstrow Castle

On the edge of the old town of Güstrow, one of the most important Renaissance castles in Northern Europe surprises with its southern charm. Magnificent stucco ceilings from the time of construction have been preserved. Extensive renovation work is currently taking place in the castle. Due to this, the castle museum is not open to the public.

Ernst Barlach Museums Güstrow - Gertruden Chapel

Güstrow Cathedral

Construction of the cathedral began in 1226 and was not completed until 1335 with the consecration of the altar. The transition from the Romanesque to the Gothic period can be clearly seen at Güstrow Cathedral. The cruciform ground plan and the elongated choir room point to the Romanesque concept. The massive west tower is 44 meters high.

Parish Church of St. Mary

The Güstrow parish church stands on the market square in the immediate vicinity of the town hall. The first documented mention of the parish church dates back to 1308. After the fire in the center of Güstrow in 1503, which also destroyed the church, it was rebuilt and consecrated in 1508. When you enter the parish church, the first thing you see is the completely restored Jan Borman altar from 1522. This work of art, the ornate pulpit, the impressive organ and a small Barlach angel are already reasons enough to take a look around. But there is one very special highlight that you should not miss: 196 steps lead up to the 41 meter high observation deck of the highest building in Güstrow. A magnificent view over the city and Heidberge, the lakes and the meadows leaves many tourists amazed.

Climate forest Bützow

Numerous residents, guests and companies from the Rostock and Bützow area have been involved in the establishment of this future climate forest. Oak trees were planted here for the first time in the fall of 2010 on 2 hectares. The edge of the forest is mainly supplemented with wild fruit trees (apple, pear) and shrubs (rosehip, blackthorn and others).

Güstrow castle garden

The garden of Güstrow Castle was first mentioned in 1570 and was subsequently redesigned several times. On the occasion of the 750th anniversary of Güstrow, the garden was rededicated in 1978. Old plans formed the basis for the design.

North German Nativity Museum

Christmas cribs from all over the world can be seen in a permanent exhibition. Interesting are the variety of materials used as well as the different ways of processing. Unusual materials include nuts, bread dough, tree bark or banana leaves. The nativity scenes were, for example, mouth-blown, punched or woven.

Rühn Monastery

Rühn Monastery is a well-preserved monastery complex dating from 1232. The owner is a non-profit, voluntary association. The monastery includes a monastery store and a tavern as well as an oil, mustard and vinegar manufactory.
