The island of Werder offers a fantastic circular hiking trail, which connects directly to the cycling and hiking trail network of the Mecklenburg Lake District. Swimming, sailing, surfing, water skiing and fishing are among the most popular activities.
In addition, due to the central location of Alt Schwerin, there are many opportunities for excursions to the adjacent nature park or to the Müritz National Park, to the surrounding idyllic small towns or to the romantic residential towns of Mecklenburg.
