The day starts early in the morning at the boat hire Boots-Berg in Feldberg. From there, you first paddle across the quiet Haussee lake before heading through the narrow canal into the Breite Luzin. A trip around the banks is highly recommended - the varied slopes, bays and forests make this section a special nature experience.
At the southern end of the Breite Luzin, a small bridge tunnel next to the Hotel Altes Zollhaus leads into the Schmaler Luzin, one of the most beautiful lakes in the entire region. The densely overgrown banks reach right down to the water's edge and convey a feeling of deep seclusion. The clear water, tranquillity and regular sightings of waterfowl and birds of prey characterize this section.
About halfway along, you will come across the hand-pulled Luzin ferry, where you can also stop for a bite to eat - an idyllic place for a break. The goose meadow is particularly suitable for a swim, where you can moor and enjoy the refreshing water.
The route continues to Carwitz, where the narrow Bäk at the south-eastern end of the lake is navigable as far as the bridge. After a short portage, it is worth taking a tour of the village. The Hans Fallada Museum offers fascinating insights into the life of the writer, while cafés and restaurants invite you to enjoy a meal. Especially recommended: freshly smoked trout or char from the Krüger fisherman - a delicious meal with some bread. Afterwards, a Swedish mug at Carwitz Eck provides new energy for the onward journey.
From Carwitz, tours could be undertaken further south to Lychen and beyond. For this day trip, however, the route only leads through the narrow canal into Lake Dreetzsee to the campsite on the southern shore before returning via Lake Carwitz. A tour around the Werder Islands in the Zansen is a must - the lake with its clear waters and numerous bays invites you to explore and enjoy. Here, too, there are always places to moor and swim.
Ambitious paddlers can also head for the Wootzensee or Fürstenhagen.
The tour ends with the return in the late afternoon, where you can be conveniently picked up by Mr. Berg at the boathouses on Scharteisensee at around 6 p.m. - an excellent service from Boots-Berg.
So ends a phenomenal, eventful and enjoyable day on the lakes of the Feldberger Seenlandschaft.
