The Scheunen Domizil Hotel is located in Germany’s largest fieldstone barn. In addition to the hotel, the barn is home to many artisan workshops with attached shops, the village tavern, the Gutsherrenkeller, and a bakery. The barn also serves as a center for culture, events, and markets.
Germany’s largest fieldstone barn—125 meters long and 34 meters wide—is located in Bollewick, in the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District with its more than 2,000 lakes and forests. In an extraordinary atmosphere, you’ll find 23 double rooms, 1 single room, and 2 “Snow White Rooms” (with up to 8 beds and 2 bathrooms). The lovingly decorated rooms are comfortably equipped with a shower/toilet, telephone, and satellite TV. Cribs and high chairs are provided free of charge. On-site, you can enjoy the infrared sauna and the romantic tub for specially designed baths. Massages round out the wellness offerings. You’ll be treated to culinary delights at the Dorfschenke, the Gutsherrenkeller, and the café with bakery. In the barn, you’ll find a marketplace with a dance floor, demonstration workshops for traditional crafts, and a farm shop.
Adjacent to the barn is a romantic village pond with a wildlife enclosure, inviting you to linger and take a stroll. The community of Bollewick is innovatively developing into an “energy village.” The barn is known nationwide through radio and television coverage of its events and markets. Free parking on-site, free admission to the demonstration workshops and shops (except during certain markets), exhibitions, concerts, traditional markets (Easter markets, Advent markets, Pentecost market, summer market), flea markets, barn tours (upon request), and various other events (e.g., Women’s Day or the big slaughter festival, always held on the last Saturday in February).
