The Rambin Museum of Local History "Life and Work in the Countryside".

The Rambin Museum of Local History is a museum gem. On the farm of the former farmer Fritz Herud from Götemitz was an almost complete collection of all the equipment and machinery used in German agriculture in the first half of the 19th century in a well-managed medium-sized farm. They were carefully stored in the barn of the farm and together with the heirs of the farm and the municipal council of Rambin as well as the Amt Südwest-Rügen the idea was born to make this unique collection accessible to the public in a museum. In 1993 the municipalities of the Amt decided to participate in the purchase, preservation and construction of a museum institution on the agricultural development in the territory. The museum was opened in May 2000 by the "Association for the Promotion of Historical Sites in Rambin and Surroundings e.V." (founded in 1995). Buildings belonging to it are a former BHG warehouse, a barn, the clay oven, the horizontal saw frame and a large festival meadow. The municipality of Rambin has handed over the buildings and grounds to the association as the responsible body for the museum. The museum is open Mon - Fri from 09:00 to 15:00.
