The massive nave with five-sided eastern chancel was completed in 1380. Over the centuries, the building has undergone numerous changes, so wall remains indicate the planning of a massive tower.
However, in 1667 a wooden tower was added, which was destroyed by arson in 1999 and rebuilt in 2000. Since the historical bell from the 17th century melted during the fire, the church received a new bell in 2000. Inside there is a relatively completely preserved neo-Gothic interior from 1843 and one of the few original Buchholz organs (1842). The latter underwent a general restoration in 2001 by the organ builder Rainer Wolter from Zudar (Rügen) and is characterized by particularly fine craftsmanship and a beautiful sound. The interior restoration with medieval and baroque uncovered areas should be finished in 2004.
