Neustadt-Glewe gliding airfield. Here you can fly gliders, learn to fly gliders or fly as a guest.
The Neustadt-Glewe Gliding Club (SFC) was founded in 1990 and its catchment area stretches from Hamburg to Berlin, which is probably also due to its central location on the A24. Here, students from the age of 14 are trained as glider pilots.
Hobby and competition flights are also carried out and those interested can see the world from a bird's eye view as guests in a two-seater glider. From May to August, there are usually gliders on the site almost every day. The predominantly good thermal conditions make Neustadt-Glewe a suitable starting point for extended cross-country flights.
The sandy soil, which is widespread in the area around Neustadt-Glewe, provides immediate thermals even after prolonged exposure to rain, even with little sunlight, making the airfield a real glider pilot's paradise.
