A living room with an open, comfortable kitchen and 2 bedrooms, each with a double bed, are located on the lower floor of the house. Another small bedroom with a single bed is on the upper floor and can be reached via a spiral staircase. There is a bathroom with a shower/WC and a bathtub. The house offers space for 6 people. You can relax on the covered, partially glazed terrace after an eventful day. The house has 2 horses and 2 cats.
The vacation home is located in the idyllic village of Sophienhof, which was originally built as a round village on the Peene flood plain. Duchess Sophie of Stettin took a liking to the place and occasionally stayed here. She was able to buy the village in 1593. The village was then given its name.
Worth seeing is the Sophienhof church (a rectangular fieldstone building) with a free-standing belfry in the churchyard and tombstones at the western entrance, as well as the vicarage, the sheepfold on the edge of the village and the oven, where bread is baked on special occasions and festivals.
Sophienhof is located directly on the Peene and has a well-maintained water hiking rest area, opposite which is the nature reserve "Schwingetal und Peenewiesen bei Trantow" with old peat bogs, wet meadows and willow bushes. From here you can start your paddling tours, swim in the river or relax under shady trees. You can do your shopping in the village store at the water hiking rest area. Larger supermarkets can be found in the town of Loitz.
