The public library in Malchin is one of the oldest in Mecklenburg. It was founded back in 1898. Despite its long history, the town library is by no means outdated today.
"BORROW INSTEAD OF BUY"-
that is the motto of the town library, because an extensive, up-to-date and attractive stock of around 20,000 media is available for the inhabitants of Malchin and the surrounding area.
Novels, non-fiction and children's literature are available as well as DVDs and magazines. An extensive stock of audio books is also available if you are interested. Tonis and the Onleihe complete the picture.
In order to keep the stock up to date, around 1,500 new items are purchased for lending every year. All media can be borrowed for four weeks. Films are an exception. These may only be borrowed for 14 days. Items can be renewed by telephone or email.
