Historical Buildings, Churches

Once you have climbed the calf-friendly mini-mountain to the fortified church perched defiantly on a hill, you will be rewarded not only with a fantastic view.

The interior supports a wooden ceiling in English cast-iron architecture as found in railroad stations there. Not visible is the connection of this church to Luther. Apparently, the learned Dietrich von Moltzan from Kirch Grubenhagen and the reformer had met personally at that time. And so, since 1543, Protestant preaching had already taken place here, even before the Reformation had been officially introduced in Mecklenburg.
