BAM Usedom “The World Goes Swimming”—and the BikiniARTmuseum showcases how, when, and why in its temporary exhibition experience on Usedom. Across approximately 800 square meters, visitors are immersed in a fascinating journey through time and around the world, exploring the international history of swimwear and beach culture. From the beginnings of historical swimwear through the invention of the bikini in 1946 to global influences from Brazil, Europe, and the U.S., the exhibition spans continents and eras.
In addition to global history, it also highlights regional characteristics: the time-honored bathing culture of the imperial spas, Usedom’s close connection to Berlin—once known as “Berlin’s bathtub”—as well as fascinating insights into the history of bathing in the Baltic Sea and Poland. A special highlight is the exclusive Hollywood section featuring spectacular original exhibits from film and television—including iconic pieces from celebrities and cult productions such as *Baywatch* and *Star Wars*. Whether posing in front of Pamela’s *Baywatch* swimsuit, on the selfie swing, or romping around in the ball pit—no one leaves the exhibition without the perfect souvenir photo!
