    Adventure World Submarine Museum - H.M.S. Otus

    Erlebniswelt U-Boot GmbH is located in the city harbor of Sassnitz. H.M.S. Otus - Her Majesty's Submarine Otus - is a British submarine of the Oberon class.     Circus Putbus

    The name Putbus is probably of Slavic origin and translates as "behind the lilac bush". In 1810 this place was developed by Prince Malte to a residence town in classicistic style with theater, pedagogy and white houses around the circus. A city from the drawing board with park and animal enclosure and rosebushes in front of every house.

    Since 2004, the former forester’s and guest house of the “Fürsten zu Putbus“ houses a visitor centre about the UNESCO biosphere reserve “Südost-Rügen“.

The round trip begins in Sassnitz with a winding descent to the traditional fishing port. Past the flintstone fields south of Mukran and the 4.5 km long "Colossus of Prora", a relic from the Third Reich, it goes to the Baltic resorts of Binz, Sellin, Baabe and Göhren, always the salty taste of fresh sea air on the lips. Audible from afar, the narrow-gauge railroad "Rasender Roland" connects the seaside resorts known for their resort architecture, piers and promenades. The adjacent beech forests of the Granitz provide cooling freshness.

The next stage leads through the unspoiled nature of the Mönchgut peninsula with its bays and headlands to the south of the island. On the way, cyclists can admire the blossom-white classicist town ensemble of the royal seat Putbus.

Altefähr offers an impressive panorama of Stralsund's old town. A good contrast to the small fishing villages on the west coast of Rügen. The way to Gingst runs through the almost deserted nature of the island of Ummanz, accompanied by the screaming and chirping of numerous water and mudflat birds and huge flocks of cranes in spring and autumn.

To the peninsula of Wittow the bicycle travels by ferry. At the wildly romantic Cape Arkona, two lighthouses defy wind and weather. The listed fishing village of Vitt nestles idyllically in a small bay. Along the kilometer-long sandy beach you will reach the highlight of the round trip - the Jasmund National Park with its world-famous chalk cliffs, embedded in the lush green beech forests of the Stubbenkammer.
