The circular tour begins in the minster town of Bad Doberan with its Cistercian monastery church and classicist lodging houses that are famous beyond national borders. It leads through a picture-book landscape with small hills, gnarled pastures and flowering field margins, past wide meadows with horses and cows. Lined up like a string of pearls, manor houses line the way to the birthplace of Troy discoverer Heinrich Schliemann. Neubukow welcomes its guests with a small-town idyll and a well-preserved Dutch windmill.

On the second stage, the path leads only a few kilometers to the Salzhaff, where flocks of birds cavort in the shallow waters off the Wustrow peninsula. Between the rape fields around the Bastorf lighthouse lies one romantic manor house next to the other. The sea is always close by and tempts you to take a refreshing break.

The Baltic resort Kühlungsborn invites you to linger with its kilometer-long promenade and the pier. Mondane white villas in resort architecture, like the flowery white classicism ensemble in nearby Heiligendamm, are reminiscent of life in the days of the emperor.

The avenue to Bad Doberan, lined with magnificent linden trees and yellow rapeseed fields, leads past the oldest horse racing track on the European mainland. A special highlight is the narrow-gauge railroad "Molli" with its puffing and tooting steam locomotive, which occasionally accompanies cyclists on their way.

Along the circular route there are manor houses in Hohen Luckow, Wokrent, Rederant, Gerdshagen, Rosenhagen, Klein Nienhagen, Garvensdorf, Roggow, Blengow, Hohen Niendorf, Bastorf, Kägsdorf, Altenhagen and Gerdsdorf.

    Detour notice:

The Rederank-Gerdshagen section is closed. We recommend the following two detour options:
Option 1: From Satow, first take the state road in the direction of Radegast, then turn into Miekenhäger Weg, continue straight ahead until you reach the state road. Here, turn left for a short distance, then right to Miekenhagen. Behind the village, continue along Alter Kastanienweg until you reach a crossroads, then turn right in the direction of Horst. Here you are again on the Gutshaus-Rundweg in the direction of Rosenhagen.
Variant 2: Coming from Hohen Luckow do not turn to Satow but to the left. Follow the village road until you reach the junction Krugland. Here turn right to the next crossing. Then turn right again in the direction of Jürgenshagen. Follow the signs with the "Green Triangle". In the village of Jürgenshagen take the Neukruger Weg and the main road to the state road, here turn right in the direction of Satow. The second junction on the left leads you onto a farm road in the direction of Radegast. In Radegast turn right to Miekenhagen and Horst. Here you are again on the Gutshaus-Rundweg.

At the Satower Land bike tours you can better understand the bypass variants.
