Welcome to this year's exhibition "Windstärke 25" by Hanka Friedrich (Lüdecke)
In addition to works relating to the sea and waves, the "Stralsund Heads" will once again be on display. This time, the city's personalities reveal their favorite places in Stralsund. Why not choose two or three places and go in search of clues!
On the occasion of this year's 100th birthday of Bertram von Schmiterlöw, the exhibition offers an opportunity to remember this wonderful son of Stralsund and great artist.
Hanka Friedrich (Lüdecke) paints in studios and rooms in Stralsund and Berlin, sketches in urban spaces, on ships and on beaches. Born in Stralsund, she longingly brings the water into the capital. She portrays everything that lives in or by the sea. The diversity of the motifs is reflected in the form. Hanka Friedrich uses a wide variety of formats: sometimes tactile and sombre, sometimes harmonious and well-composed. It takes the whole palette to capture everything from churning storms and salt-encrusted skin to a mirror-smooth winter sea. The common thread running through the diverse works is the urgent style and confidence in the power of color. Through confident strokes and many layers of color, the calm or power of the sea shines out of each painting, regardless of the subject.
