"When I long for you, I think most of all of the sound of your voice, which I love like a force of nature, like an element. You are completely contained in this sound (for me), everything else is only a part of you, and when I wrap myself in your voice, you are completely with me." Kurt Weill
Ensemble VIDA invites you to a musical deep dive. With two artists' souls in their luggage, together with the audience they explore a time that was challenging for art and life, and thus dare to look all the more into the present day. They present musical works by Kurt Weill, in particular from The Threepenny Opera, in a new arrangement by the composer and pianist Peter Leipold, featuring violin (Maria Meures), saxophone (Claudia Meures), cello (Marcus Sundermeyer), piano and vocals. Jana Kühn, singer and actress, reads from the correspondence and slips into the songs and roles of Lotte Lenya, sometimes tenderly, sometimes coarsely. A piece of contemporary history within old walls with a hopeful view of the future.
