A creative media project is planned that combines animated film production, reading promotion and handicrafts. From September 20 to December 13, 2025, the participating children aged 8 to 12 will develop their own short animated films based on stories they have read.
The focus is on self-invented or further developed stories (FANFICTION), which are visualized using animation techniques. We use various artistic forms of realization:
- animated films with self-made figures and backdrops made of paper,
cardboard and other craft materials (3D pens)
- 3D elements that are produced with a 3D printer and integrated into the
can be integrated into the animated film sets
- Self-drawn animations on iPads, created with digital pens (pencils)
The children work in small teams and learn about different steps in media production
- Story development and storyboard design
- Crafting and designing the animation sets and characters
- Using 3D printing technology for special objects
- Digital drawing and animation with apps on the iPad
- Filming with stop-motion technology and digital post-production (e.g. adding sound, making noises and simple cuts)
The children are accompanied by two media educators who encourage them to use their imagination and actively shape media forms of expression. At the end, the finished animated films will be presented in a performance on the big screen.
