The East African country of Uganda has an inestimable natural wealth. It ranges from Africa's highest mountain range, the Rwenzori Mountains, to primeval forests with the last mountain gorillas and Lake Victoria.
Uganda's eventful history is characterized by formerly powerful kingdoms, slavery and colonialism and a rocky road to independence.
The privately organized trip included a three-day hike in the Rwenzori Mountains up to an altitude of 3800 m in the Afroalpine vegetation zone. Protected areas for mountain gorillas and chimpanzees were visited and the shoebill could be observed at Lake Victoria.
Admission is free from 17:30 hrs.
