by Bernd Böhlich and Thomas Rudnick
Who doesn't know the wonderful films with the village policeman Horst Krause from Brandenburg? Now the author and director of this popular series, Bernd Böhlich, has joined forces with actor Thomas Rudnick to bring the solo program "Waiting for Hollywood" to the stage.
In it, film actor Frank Czerwinski not only waits for the long-awaited call from Hollywood. He also talks about other formative moments that are closely linked to patience and perseverance. He talks about top and flop roles, his first car, his great love, the turnaround and how he patiently waited for all of this. Waiting without expecting.
"Waiting for Hollywood" is a loving homage to the provinces - that barren space of deceleration and a slowed-down way of life, somewhere between Hamburg, Szczecin and Dresden - and to its inhabitants with their very special charm. Because it doesn't always have to be the lavish gestures, the detailed explanations or the rambling conversation. Two-word sentences are often enough to get on well.
Thomas Rudnick is well-known from radio and television. Even as a teenager, he appeared in front of the camera and on theater stages. He has appeared in "Tatort", "Soko Wismar", "Soko Leipzig", "Die Bergretter", "In aller Freundschaft", "Großstadtrevier" and is a narrator in numerous radio play productions. Together with author, director and Grimme Award winner Bernd Böhlich, he has teamed up alongside the film set to develop this artistic solo program for the stage.
