Exhibition opening for the Schwerin Culture Night
Stanislaw Lifson's photographs show people - not staged, but as they are: passing by, pausing, interacting with their surroundings.
Lifson is constantly on the move with his small camera, always attentive, always ready. He does not wait - he searches. He moves through the streets like a collector, on the hunt for the fleeting, for honest moments.
With a practiced eye.
He doesn't photograph in secret, but in the middle of the action. His wide-angle lens forces him to get close - and you can feel this in every picture. He is interested in the real, the unplanned, the human. Lifson relies on intuition, chance and a practiced eye. For him, seeing is an attitude - a daily exercise that teaches us to perceive the world differently.
