A new series of lectures by artists MV sheds light on relevant topics at first hand, with opportunities for dialog and insights directly from experts - The first topic
UPDATE - First-hand stories & information
The idea came about because many questions remain unanswered for us at the moment, but first-hand information is also often lacking. In addition, rumors and half-knowledge often cause fear and uncertainty in our society. However, it is also clear that half-knowledge and rumors very quickly turn into misinformation, leaving many questions unanswered. However, many people also find that they are no longer listened to. This leads to misunderstandings.
That's why we think it's even more important to start a conversation with people who know what they're talking about and who actually experience what is being talked about. There are many exciting, but also frightening stories in the world that are worth telling and where it's worth listening again. We want to make this possible for you and for us with this series.
The event series invites anyone who would like to receive more background information on important topics and meet speakers and experts to listen to their stories. There will always be the opportunity to ask your own questions and get first-hand answers.
The first topic of UPDATE - first-hand stories & information is sea rescue.
A topic that is currently not being covered in the press and is being ignored by politicians. Nevertheless, there are still many people trying to leave their homes on rubber dinghies and via one of the most dangerous routes - the Mediterranean - in the hope of being able to start a better life on the other side. These include not only women and men, but entire families with small children.
On Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at 6 pm, we will find out what is actually going on in the Mediterranean from Jonas, a volunteer at Sea-Watch.org will tell us.
Admission is free - thanks to the support of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
