A lecture by Nicole Hey about the Doberan artist Hedwig Symanzik.
For seven years, the Förderverein Büdnerei 202 - Museum Hedwig Symanzik e.V. has been dedicated to the life and legacy of the artist Hedwig Symanzik, one of the first graduates of the Heiligendamm College of Applied Arts. From records and the voices of contemporary witnesses, a sensitive picture emerges of a quiet but impressive personality whose artistic career ended far too early at the age of just 53.
Symanzik lived and worked at Büdnerei 202 in Bad Doberan, where a museum is being created in her honor.
The lecture by Nicole Hey, Chairwoman of the Friends' Association, offers a touching look at an artist who worked quietly - and spoke all the more clearly in her colorful, profound work.
The event in the Ehm Welk House is the kick-off for the 2026 "Women in Culture" program of the Bad Doberan cultural initiative.
