The Güstrow Carnival Club`89e.V., GCC, has been a fixture in the town of Güstrow for over 35 years. Güstrow Helau!
Every year on 11.11. at 11.11 a.m., the jesters storm the town halls all over Germany. We Güstrowers are no exception! This year, too, the preparations for this day are already in full swing. And now that we have conquered the town hall key, we would like to invite you to the opening party of the 25/26 session.
In June 1989, a few happy-go-lucky Güstrow residents decided to follow the call of cabaret artist Günter Hemp and found a carnival club. Little did they know that their preparations and plans would be profoundly thwarted on November 9, 1989.
But that didn't stop the enthusiasts. Now things really got going! Over the years, countless dance choreographies, carnival speeches in the spirit of political cabaret, singing interludes and jokes in all forms were created. Because one thing has always been paramount: fun and cheerfulness!
All generations come together here: 4-year-old young dancers, 14-year-old funkenmariechen, fully grown show dancers and seasoned adults who like to be cheerful. We rehearse dances, write lyrics and design costumes and decorations every week throughout the year. We spend many hours sewing, crafting and fantasizing. What counts here is the community, combined with foolish ideas.
So join us for the start of the 25/26 session, and the program is far from over!
Afterwards, we invite you to a party with a DJ. So put on your dancing shoes and let's go!
