Farewell tour 2025 at the Kurbühne Baabe
It was the moment of glory for one of the most successful bands from the glam rock era of the seventies, one of those magical moments when everything seemed to fall into place and everything changed. "Sugar Baby Love" was released in January 1973 and turned THE RUBETTES into global stars. The song was a number one hit in Germany, France, the Benelux countries and the UK - and was also a hit in the USA.
It was followed by numerous other top 10 hits for the Rubettes throughout Europe, including Tonight, Juke Box Jive, I Can Do It and Foe-dee-oh-dee and Baby I Know - a country-rock style ballad.
All in all, an artistic and commercial success that continues to have an impact to this day. To mark its 50th anniversary, the epic masterpiece is being celebrated with a brilliant farewell tour - and the release of a new album with plenty of additional material. Finally, good news again for all Rubettes fans.
The Rubettes feat. Bill Hurd are a piece of British music history, which the pop/rock icons celebrated extensively with a world tour in 2024 through Europe, Australia, Japan and the USA with a total of over 140 concerts.
