Totone (Clément Faveau) is young, spirited and carefree. He likes to spend his time with his buddies, going dancing and flirting. Until reality catches up with him. Suddenly he has to take responsibility for his little sister and his parents' run-down farm in the French Jura. To make a living, he comes up with a plan: he wants to make the best Comté cheese. After all, in addition to a gold medal, the winner of the year can look forward to 30,000 euros in prize money. Totone is supported by his friends, his sister and his great love Marie-Lise (Maïwene Barthelemy), even if she is not always fully aware of Totone's questionable methods...

Without kitschy exaggeration and with great empathy for its wonderful characters, this film paints an authentic picture of life in the country - and the pitfalls of making a good cheese. Courvoisier was awarded the 'Prix de la Jeunesse' in the 'Un Certain Regard' section at the 2024 Cannes International Film Festival for her debut film.
