On November 22, 2024, the contemporary Romeo and Juliet version celebrated its premiere as part of the French Film Week in Berlin and was subsequently shown in 13 other cities. Based on the novel 'L'amour ouf' by Neville Thompson, director Lellouche ('A Basin Full of Men') has staged a contemporary Romeo and Juliet story for the big screen with 'Beating Hearts'. The leading roles are played by Adèle Exarchopoulos (from 'Blue is a Warm Color') as 25-year-old Jackie and François Civil ('The Three Musketeers') as 28-year-old Clotaire, as well as up-and-coming starsMallory Wanecque ('Les Pires') as Jackie at 15 and Malik Frikah ('Gangs of Paris') as Clotaire at 17 as well as Alain Chabat as Jackie's father and last but not least Benoît Poelvoorde.
