The morning's lectures will focus on the end of the Second World War. Dr. Dieter Garling will describe the situation in the town of Lübz 80 years ago, and Ramona Ramsenthaler will present memorials in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district that commemorate the death marches of 1945.

In the afternoon, practical aspects are on the program. Bert Lingnau will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of eyewitness interviews. Matthias Brandt will explore the question of what needs to be considered when archiving material for a chronicle, and Dr. Geert Ruickoldt will give tips on how to read old sources effectively.
