Summer evening Ahrenshoop with OKAPI

OKAPI are a German indie folk duo consisting of singer/songwriters Julian Dietz and Nild Höddinghaus.
The trained actors met at the Junge Staatstheater Parchim and formed a band in the summer of 2017.
The songs, written by both musicians, are characterized by harmonies and expressive melodies. They switch confidently back and forth between different instruments.
Since 2004, the two have had the female support of Gesa Penthin on stage. Also a trained actress, she brings a new timbre to the band's life-inspired songs with her captivatingly clear voice and violin playing.
Every now and then, a cover sneaks into the three musicians' set. But one thing is clear: whether it's Frank Sinatra, Gundermann, Hannes Wader or Carol King, it never sounds like the original, and that would be a shame.
