A lawyer and a philosopher in conversation about a concept that shapes our understanding of ourselves - and at the same time is beginning to erode. What does human dignity mean today? And what is at stake?
A lawyer. A philosopher. A word that means everything and that could slip away from us. When the fishermen couldn't go out in a storm, they stayed ashore and sought conversation. In this tradition, the Neues Kunsthaus regularly invites you to the "Strumgespräch": an open thought format for times of inner and outer upheaval. This time, the focus is on human dignity - the central concept of our social self-image. It stands at the beginning of our Basic Law, but it is beginning to lose its solid ground. What does dignity mean today - in law, in ethics, in everyday life? And what is at stake if we no longer think about it together? Reinhard Stuth, lawyer and chairman of Künstlerhaus Ahrenshoop e.V., and Dr. Asmus Trautsch, philosopher, will discuss these issues.
