The well-known graphic artist and draughtswoman Annelise Hoge devotes herself in photographs, watercolors etc. to the city of Bergen, which was her home for more than 40 years.
In the special exhibition "A. Hoge. Bergen.Blicke", the well-known graphic artist and painter Annelise Hoge (born 1945) dedicates herself to the eponymous town, which was her home for more than 40 years. It is a small homage to this place in the center of the Island of Rügen, which is often overlooked by visitors on their way to the sea. At the same time, the exhibition shows Hoge's personal perception of the small town. Bergen is close to the artist's heart, and the exhibition is her individual conclusion after many years. Her paths lead her to the imposing and historically significant St. Mary's Church with its impressive ornamental painting of architectural surfaces or past small, seemingly inconspicuous alleyways. Annelise Hoge captures her impressions in photographs, watercolors and other artistic means of expression. She observes her surroundings with the poetic eye of an artist. Added to this is the critical viewpoint of a sensitive personality who wants to sensitize a society that often seems too apathetic to her in order to save historical and artistic evidence of the past from being forgotten and the decay that goes with it.
