Reading for children as part of the 1st graal-müritz international literature festival
Latvian author Signe Viška reads from her children's book Kati wants to be a grandfather. In imaginative pictures and with subtle humor, she tells the story of a girl who has an unusual career aspiration: she wants to become a grandfather - with everything that goes with it. Kati imagines life as a grandfather with sweets in her jacket pocket, accordion playing and fluffy cloud hair. Her story is a lovingly quirky tale about childhood fantasy, questioning rigid role models and the importance of taking children's wishes seriously.
