Schwerin's World Heritage application - a review
Supported not least by the support and commitment of the city's population, the process of the World Heritage application took almost 20 years, from its beginnings to the inscription of the Schwerin Residence Ensemble as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. World Heritage Coordinator Linda Holung looks back on the development of the nomination - from the palace ensemble of the tentative application to the discourse of the cultural landscape to the final dossier of a broadly diversified historic residential ensemble.
The presentation concludes with insights into the one-year review and evaluation process by the ICOMOS Expert Commission and the World Heritage Committee meeting in New Delhi in summer 2024.
