An event organized by the Stralsund History Society in cooperation with the Society for Pomeranian History and the District Adult Education Centre V-R
The Stralsund church and school regulations of 1525 are among the oldest church regulations following the introduction of the Protestant doctrine. It was promulgated in November 1525, a good 10 years earlier than in the rest of the Duchy of Pomerania. After the church break in April 1525 led to the collapse of the previous Catholic church order, the council felt the need to reorganize the city's church system. The lecture by Christoph Freiherr von Houwald commemorates the introduction of an independent Protestant church law. Individual central contents of the church and school regulations of 1525 will be presented. The lecture is part of the event series "500 Years of Reformation in Stralsund 1525 - 2025".
Admission is free for members of both historical societies, guests €7.50.
