Moderated by Carsten Gansel
On Thursday, October 9, 2025, Gitta Lindemann will read from her book "Meine Fensterplätze" at 7 p.m. in the Kulturquartier in Neustrelitz. The event is part of this year's Uwe Johnson Days and will be moderated by literature professor and Annalise Wagner Prize winner Prof. Carsten Gansel.
Gitta Lindemann's book is a touching piece of literature about the difficulties of living a life. She looks inward and back on her life, which is closely linked to the GDR, with its construction, its conflicts and its decline. The result is stories full of memories that are inscribed with one of Uwe Johnson's central questions: "What has actually happened so far? Where did I come from, and what made me what I am?"
Gitta Lindemann was born in Dresden in 1939 and studied journalism in Leipzig from 1957 to 1962. She worked as a radio journalist (RMV), cultural director and co-founder and presenter of the NDR Literature Café. Gitta Lindemann lives and works in Wendisch-Rambow.
