Raven-black humor and jazz at its finest" - with Klaus D. Koch & Andreas Pasternack, Christian Ahnsehl
Thinkers are welcome everywhere - different thinkers always somewhere else." Blow by blow, Klaus D. Koch shares his wisdom and opinions. And they are very welcome. The audience barely has time to laugh at his poems and aphorisms if they don't want to miss the next one. Because they are spiced up with a good dose of black humor. Andreas Pasternack on saxophone frames these black tones with light and easy jazz music.
Klaus D. Koch studied medicine in Greifswald and Rostock. After gaining his doctorate, he completed his specialist training in surgery at Rostock University Hospital. From 1982 he worked as a ward physician and from 1989 as a senior physician in the trauma surgery, general surgery and intensive care department at Rostock University Hospital. Since 1993, Klaus D. Koch has been running his own surgical practice in Tessin, in the district of Rostock. He discovered aphorism during his studies and published his first aphorisms in the press in 1978. His contributions appeared in the anthologies Kein Blatt vorm Mund published by Tribüne and Das Trojanische Steckenpferd published by Eulenspiegel. Since his first book U-Boote im Ehehafen in 1993, Koch has published further books of aphorisms and epigrams. Typical of all his books is the interplay of aphorisms and illustrations. The books by Klaus D. Koch's books were illustrated by Feliks Büttner, Peter Bauer and Inge Jastram and graphically designed by Gerd Max Lippmann. Koch has also published three children's books with rhymes illustrated by Manfred Bofinger.
For Klaus D. Koch, aphorisms are not wise sayings. Rather, he turns them into word games and aims to expose mere platitudes. "An aphorism proves that the language is not yet empty," Koch defines. The input for this comes from above. For him, art is a gift from God. He always has a "Suddelbuch" with him, in which he can immediately write down his ideas. Always true to the motto: "I'd rather have a cap under my hat than just sand on the beach".
Andreas Pasternack is a cult figure. He has hosted "Jazztime" on NDR 1 Radio MV once a week for over ten years. Through countless live performances and an unmistakable stage presence, he has gained a fan base that extends far beyond the borders of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Now the singer and saxophonist has used the concert break caused by Corona to work on a new program: "When You Are Smiling" - the most beautiful and well-known jazz standards of all time, excellently played and presented in an unmistakably charming and humorous way by Andreas Pasternack and his band.
