Reading with author Anna M. Kempe Genre: Biographical collection
"On one of our trips to the Baltic Sea, which in my memory never took place in summer, but always in cold, wet, stormy seasons, I made the perfect drawing."
Anna M. Kempe, born in 1988 in Crivitz near Schwerin, is a painter: her large-format watercolors focus on moments of closeness and conflict. The focus is on the care of people who are turned towards each other. When both her parents died of cancer, she began an intensive examination of her family history - a retrospective of her own development as a person. This resulted in her book "Das Innere der Faust".
Her parents were not allowed to study in the GDR and both became potters. The first touch of the clay familiarizes you with the malleable material. You squeeze it out of your fist with your hand. The fist is a symbol of an emotional impulse between resistance and anger. The less material fills the remaining gap, the greater the tension. Biography is "written" in such tension.
Anna M. Kempe (*1988 in Crivitz) studied painting at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig and is a member of the artist-run gallery b2_
