Public guided tour through the museum rooms of Ludwigslust Palace.
Ludwigslust is considered a baroque jewel of residential architecture. Several Mecklenburg dukes held court here.
The guided tour provides an insight into life at the court of the Mecklenburg princes between ceremonial, duty and privacy. At the same time, questions are answered about the founding of Ludwigslust and life between princely self-presentation and a passion for collecting.
As a visitor, you can experience 1500 square meters of art of the highest order: historical furniture and paintings, papier-mâché decorations, clocks, Meissen porcelain, silver and Kunstkammer objects, busts by Jean-Antoine Houdon, architectural models made of cork, ivory works, miniatures and a reconstructed picture gallery with works by the court painters Matthieu, Findorff, Suhrlandt and Lisiewsky.
