Lecture: Storm surges - origin and effects
Lecture by Ingo Zander. Storm surge heights and circumstances have only been recorded since 1872. Today, all protective measures are measured against the devastating flood of that year.
A stone commemorates the washed away village of Damerow. The last breakthrough between Koserow and Zempin was in December 1913. One of the worst storm surges
of the century was in November 1995. When will the next big flood come?
