30 years after the racist attacks in Mölln, survivor İbrahim Arslan discovers forgotten letters of solidarity.
In November 1992, the lives of İbrahim Arslan and his family were cruelly destroyed by racist arson attacks in Mölln. İbrahim, seven years old at the time, survived the catastrophe, but lost his sister, his cousin and his grandmother. The tragedy leaves behind deep wounds that remain with the family to this day. Years later, hundreds of letters of solidarity emerge that were sent to the city immediately after the attack but went unnoticed for decades. İbrahim embarks on a moving journey down memory lane as he meets three people who wrote letters at the time. These encounters open up an intense exchange about loss, solidarity and the question of how society deals with violence and discrimination.
Followed by a discussion with the film's director Martina Priessner and the protagonist İbrahim Arslan. The discussion will be moderated by Mekonnen Mesghena, head of the "Migration & Diversity" department at the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
