Planting trees for more climate protection: in Dreschvitz on the Island of Rügen, a large planting campaign is starting again this fall to build up the local climate forest. Residents and guests can lend a hand on site from 11 a.m. to get new small seedlings growing in Rügen's fifth climate forest.
The planting campaign starts at around 11 am and will last about 2 hours. Feel free to bring friends, family and children. Plants and spades will be on site, and snacks and hot drinks will also be provided.
The planting of the climate forests in MV is financed by the "Waldaktie", one of four so-called eco securities in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This enables additional reforestation projects for climate protection on the basis of voluntary contributions from locals, guests and companies. You can purchase forest shares on site or in the new Ökowertpapiere online store, for yourself or as a gift from MV to friends and relatives.

Under the direction of the Rügen Forestry Office, various tree species will form the new climate forest here in Dreschvitz on 1.5 hectares. These include tree hazel, sweet chestnut, whitebeam, Atlas cedar and small-leaved lime, framed by twelve other species of forest edge trees.
