Rolf-Dieter Arens - a passionate pianist and professor
Rolf-Dieter Arens, born in Zinnwald in 1945, discovered his love of music at an early age - he received his first piano lessons at the age of five. His extraordinary talent led him to the "Franz Liszt" Academy of Music in Weimar, where he later became a professor himself. Arens made a name for himself internationally as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist. His artistic maturity and pedagogical commitment shaped generations of young pianists. He was also President of the Weimar University of Music from 2001 to 2010.
