Digital offers, contactless payments and new technical possibilities are increasingly shaping everyday life when it comes to payments. But how is the ongoing digitalization affecting people's habits? Are preferences changing, and what concerns and challenges are associated with new developments?
The presentation on the current payment behavior study by the Deutsche Bundesbank provides insights into the payment habits of citizens in Germany. It shows which means of payment are used in everyday life and what attitudes people have towards cash, cards and digital payment methods.
In addition to current figures and trends, it also deals with fundamental questions associated with the change in payment transactions: How important are data protection and security when making payments? What role does Europe's sovereignty play in an increasingly digitalized payment landscape? And what is the status and future of cash in a society in which digital solutions are becoming increasingly commonplace?
The lecture invites you to classify current developments in payment transactions and to take a look at the future of payment.
