Lecture and discussion with the historian Dr. Volker Höffer on 15.10.2025 in Graal-Müritz
F.C. Hansa Rostock is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its foundation this year. A good opportunity to remember the situation of the soccer club in the GDR and how strong the political and ideological influence was during this time. The State Security Service was also always present on the soccer pitch. Stasi documents show how players and teams, club management and fan clubs were constantly monitored. The "sports travel cadres" were the main focus of surveillance. In addition to the players, the supporters of F.C. Hansa Rostock were also monitored. So-called "hostile-negative fan groups" were to be "decomposed" from the club with the help of unofficial collaborators.
The Stasi Records Archive Rostock, together with Tourismus- und Kur GmbH Graal-Müritz, invites you to a lecture in Graal-Müritz on October 15, 2025. The speaker, Dr. Volker Höffer, is a historian, head of the Stasi Records Archive Rostock and a former youth player for F.C. Hansa Rostock. After the lecture there will be an opportunity to talk to the audience.
