Finland has become famous over the last half century for its impressive number of internationally leading conductors. Jukka-Pekka Saraste is one of the most prominent among them. For his guest performance, he brings along the Sixth Symphony by Jean Sibelius, a work from 1923 which the composer himself once described as reminiscent of "the scent of the first snow".
