At the open-air concert in Wieck am Darß, classical music and nature meet Celtic sounds: Ulrike Mai & Ev Pielucha-Freiwald play works from Bach to Holmes, complemented by "Silent Conspiration" with harp and piano. For the finale, everyone makes music together in the moonlight.
Pianist Ulrike Mai is well known here in the north for her unusual classical music projects. In the "Piano & Nature" concert series, she has been successfully presenting classical music inspired by nature for years. In Wieck, together with flautist Ev Pielucha-Freiwald, she will perform music from Baroque to Impressionism and works from Bach & Vivaldi (Le Rossingol) to the "Clair de Lune" by French composer Augusta Holmes for the first time open-air at the harbor and, with a little luck, in the moonlight. Ev Pielucha Freiwald is a member of the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra and, like Ulrike Mai, studied at the HMT Rostock. She will be joined by Thomas Loefke on the Celtic harp and Lutz Gerlach on the piano with their project "Silent Conspiration". Thomas Loefke has been touring the world solo and with the band "Norland Wind" for many years. In their duo, the two musicians combine Irish folk and Celtic music with jazz and neo-classical music. RBB-Kulturradio once described their music as "refreshment for stressed souls". At the end of the concert, all 4 musicians will play together. You can look forward to a varied and atmospheric concert program and experience a very special kind of ha(r)fenklänge.
